Children's Ministries

Salem Avenue Baptist Childcare Center welcomes you to check out our Childcare Center at 1501 East Highway 72. Call SABCC at 364-8230 or you may drop by and visit our center. We would be happy to talk with you and give you a tour. We have classes for birth to pre-K and an after-school program.

Awana

Our church offers an AWANA program for children ages 3 through 6th grade, and starts each Wednesday evening at 6:15 p.m. in our Family Life Center from September through May. The term 'AWANA' stands for "Approved Workers Are Not Ashamed," and is a reference to the Bible verse which teaches us to " Awana Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, handling accurately the word of truth." (II Timothy 2:15)

This childrens' ministry emphasizes scripture memorization and a clear understanding of the Gospel message, presented in a fast-paced and fun-filled format. Our AWANA Commander, Matthew Matlock, is committed to developing the very best ministry possible, and he has enlisted some of our best workers to serve in this program. Any child ages 3 through 6th grade is welcome to attend, and is encouraged to bring friends along, too! Parents are welcome to stay and watch, help if they would like, or attend our Bible Study & Prayer Service.

Children's Worship

For Kids Kindergarten to 4th Grade

The Children's Church program takes place in Room 213 across from the church library, during Sunday morning worship services. Children may be dropped off and picked up there.

Our current curriculum is, "Worship KidStyle" from Lifeway Christian Recourses. The material reinforces what is taught in our children's department Sunday School lessons each week. We begin each session with introductions followed by Praise and Worship which we do along with a DVD. There is also a real-life application video clip included weekly. The activity varies week to week and includes drama, games, and crafts. We close each session with a Praise song.

Our Children's church is designed to teach the real life application of Jesus Christ and to introduce children to the concept of worship, to encourage them to apply the Bible to their lives, and to illustrate what it means to have a relationship with Christ.
