Mission Ministries at Salem Avenue Baptist Church
The Missions Ministries at SABC is led by our Missions Ministry Team, which is made up of men and women with a heart for missions work. We sponsor a variety of missions efforts, all with the goal of bringing others to know Christ as Savior. We support missions efforts through several organizations: The Southern Baptist International Missions Board and North American Missions Board, as well as the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship of Missouri. We also support a number of other individual missionary families around the world: A couple who do college ministry in Cape Town, South Africa (Mission to the World, PCA); another family who serve in Eastern Africa in Djibouti (Campus Crusade for Christ); a chaplain who ministers to the Boys and Girls Town of Missouri (Days of Hope Ministry) in St, James, Mo., and another who is starting a Children's Home ministry in Wyoming. We are active in local benevolent ministries in the Rolla area, as well.
We have also sponsored a number of mission trips over the last few years, the most recent being a trip to Louisiana to help in Hurricane Katrina rebuilding efforts, in the Spring of 2008.
We reach out to the communities in our state through disaster relief. Most recently a team from our church traveled to Buffalo, Missouri to help in tornado clean up efforts. Pictures of this trip can be seen in our Photo Gallery.
Uganda, Africa June 2008 - Four members from our church traveled to Uganda to work in a poverty and aids stricken community. They will report to the church on June 29th at 6:00 p.m.
We will continue to send people out, so that we might share Christ around the world.
